‘Art in the Bag – Benefitting Cancer Awareness, Research and Care’

The Midwest Lampworkers Guild and Wear Yellow Nebraska hosted “Art in the Bag” on Friday, October 15th at the Hot Shops Art Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

“Art in the Bag” is a fundraising event featuring a silent auction of handcrafted bags, purses and totes with beaded commemorative key chains. Over 100 guests were entertained throughout the evening with live music from guitarist Sue Russell and hors d’oeuvres from Spencers for Steaks and Chops while bidding on over 50 paired items created by area artisans. The event proceeds will be donated to the 2010 beneficiaries, Leap For A Cure and the Linda Tolton Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Event Chair Kelli Sweet stated, “We could not be more pleased to raise funds and awareness for these two amazing local cancer non-profit organizations.” Leap For A Cure is raising funds and awareness in the fight against brain cancer while the Linda Tolton Fund supports research for pancreatic cancer. She further adds “the support from the Omaha community for this event is overwhelming, we have had many artists commit to to creative donations for 2011.”

February 20, 2012

I want to pass along my heartfelt thanks to you, the Wear Yellow board of directors, and the Wear Yellow members for your tremendous support of Camp CoHoLo over the past three years. Your most recent donation to our children's cancer camp is significant, and is large enough to cover all of the costs for our sibling camp to be held this fall.

Just like Wear Yellow Nebraska, the members of Camp CoHoLo's board of director and camp staffes are all volunteers. One hundred percent of donations to Camp CoHoLo go directl towards our summer cancer camp, fall sibling camp, and winter carnival. Your donations will be put to good use.
